The Garden in Mespil Hotel

‘The Garden’

The painting ‘The Garden’ by Reinder Ourensma purchased by the Mespil Hotel in Dublin.

‘The Garden’ is contributing now to the atmosphere inside this four star rated hotel overlooking the banks of the Grand Canal in quiet Georgian Dublin.

Revisiting this impressive Glendalough Monastic Site in 2014 resulted in making this painting – The Garden.
Glendalough refers to a beautiful valley in the Irish Wicklow Mountains, about 40 kilometers south from Dublin.
This is a superb walking area. In the valley a monastery was founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin who lived as a hermit.
The ruins are among the oldest Christian relics in Europe.
The name Glendalough comes from the Irish: Gleann Dá Locha – Valley of the two lakes.
